March to Impeach Bush Grassroots

Filed under: General Articles,Impeach Grassroots — warden @ 11:45 am

He is just, in his own words, “one guy sitting in my bedroom in Brooklyn”, but he has the courage to dream big. The creator of the pro-impeachment web site March to Impeach is trying to gather public support behind the idea of a march in Washington D.C. demanding the impeachment of President George W. Bush.

When will the march take place? Well, that depends on you, partially. Over at March to Impeach, there’s a poll asking visitors to say which month this year would be best for an impeachment march. go on over and give your thoughts.

Thanks to the creator of March to Impeach, for a truly grassroots effort.

Bush Says Congress Cannot Stop Him

Filed under: Congress and Impeachment,General Articles — warden @ 5:00 am

Yesterday, George W. Bush declared that he has the power to ignore any attempt by Congress to stop the war in Iraq. He said that he won’t listen to Congress if Congress declares that the surge in troop levels cannot take place. He said Congress can try to stop him if it likes, but he won’t pay attention.

Essentially, Bush repeated his old bring them on challenge.

Come on, Congress. Bring it on. Show Bush what kind of power Congress has over the President. Impeach Bush. Then, put him in prison, where criminals like him belong.

What is the Military Doing Spying On My Money

Filed under: Domestic Crimes,General Articles — warden @ 9:45 am

If this doesn’t outrage you, what will? This morning, it was revealed that the American military has been spying on the private financial records of American citizens.

The military isn’t seeking search warrants to spy on your financial records. It’s just going to the White House to issue National Security Letters, which give carte blanche to ignore your constitutional right to protection from unreasonable search and seizure.

The military is supposed to defend the United States against military attacks, not to act as a spy agency against Americans who haven’t broken the law. This is an outrageous crime, and it’s been coordinated by George W. Bush himself.

Impeach Bush. Why won’t the Democratic Congress defend our rights and impeach Bush?

Another Three Thousand To Iraq Now?

Filed under: Congress and Impeachment,General Articles — warden @ 10:09 am

Just as George W. Bush has proposed having a surge of more soldiers into Iraq, the British, the other half of the Coalition of the Willing, are surging their soldiers in the opposite direction, taking almost half of their soldiers out of Iraq.

What does that means for Bush’s proposed escalation for the war? Does the United States military now have to find another three thousand soldiers, in addition to the twenty one thousand it was supposed to surge with?

Within a year, it is expected that almost all of the remaining 4,500 British soldiers will leave Iraq completely, meaning that even if the 21,000 American soldiers dropped over in Iraq stay for a year, they will represent an increase in troop levels only of 13,500. It’s not so much a surge as a surgelette.

I think that Congress needs to do some emergency surgery on the White House, and perform a Bushectomy. They remove that inflamed Cheney that’s been acting up too, while they’re at it.

The grounds are clear. The need is clear. Impeach.

Bush, Resign! 26 percent support!

Filed under: General Articles,Transition After Bush — warden @ 6:13 pm

It doesn’t get any more plain than this: Only 26 percent of Americans support the job that George W. Bush is doing as President of the United States. Only 36 percent supports the escalation of the Iraq War that Bush will announce tonight.

George W. Bush is wrong, wrong, wrong, and every American who has an ounce of sense in their heads. George W. Bush has no popular authority with which to work as President of the United States. He is accused of several grave crimes against American and international law. Everything that George W. Bush could have possibly failed at, he has failed at.

It is time for George W. Bush to resign, and for Vice President Dick Cheney to join him.

Let the 3rd person in the line of succession to the Presidency, Speaker of the House Condoleeza Rice, take over as President of the United States for the next two years. Let her choose a bipartisan cabinet including Republicans like Lincoln Chafee and Arlen Specter and Democrats who had the sense to vote against the Iraq War in the first place.

Your time is up, President Bush. Now, please, walk away before anybody else gets hurt.

Ocean Beach Impeachment Protest Today

Nancy Pelosi may speak for San Francisco in the House of Representatives, but she doesn’t represent San Francisco’s progressive values any more. Nancy Pelosi has declared that, no matter what crimes George W. Bush commits, impeachment is off the table. The people of San Francisco overwhelmingly support impeaching President Bush.

Over a thousand people are expected to show up at Ocean Beach in San Francisco today to participate in a pro-impeachment protest. The protest will go from 10:30 until noon.

The Democrats may have abandoned the idea of enforcing the rule of law, but we the people still believe that the President is not above the law. That’s why we continue to support the movement to impeach Bush.

Eureka Protests For Impeachment

Filed under: General Articles,Impeach Grassroots — warden @ 11:26 am

Popular support for the impeachment of President Bush remains high. Yesterday’s impeachment rally in Washington D.C. was not an isolated incident. January 2nd, for example, constituents of Congressman Mike Thompson gathered in Eureka, California to show their opposition to the Iraq War, carrying signs that read Impeach Bush!

Mike Thompson is a Democrat. Why is this protest necessary outside his home office? Shouldn’t Mike Thompson be helping the majority that want to see Bush impeached?

Shape up, Representative Thompson.
